To perpetuate our history of growth and development, the congregation, in July of 1988, moved to the scenic 22-acre site of 1055 Norris Road at I-240. Our great desire to embrace the entire Memphis Metropolitan area to save lost continues as foundational motivation to effectuate God’s will. The minister/evangelist, elders, deacons and membership are striving to work cohesively and cooperatively in our joint effort to evangelize, edify the saints and do works of benevolence.
In October 2000, the late great Dr. Nokomis Yeldell retired after 41 years of faithful service. Bro. J. Michael Crusoe, as the successor to Bro. Yeldell, served our congregation from 2001 through 2012. Our current minister, Bro. DonBurnell Holly, returned to his home congregational roots in March of 2013 after his departure for ministerial servitude growth and development in the Kingdom of God in 1984. The tutelage, training, mentorship and wise sage guidance that Bro. Yeldell provided for him for 27 years, from 1980 to 2007, has optimally equipped him to work effectively with the great and historic Norris Road congregation.
The Norris Road Church of Christ is currently engaged in missionary support, both nationally and internationally. We are
a) reflecting on our glorious past b) positively embracing the present and c) faithfully anticipating our radiant ministerial future to 1) seek and save the lost 2) build each other up in the most holy faith and 3) compassionately meet the needs of others.
